China’s finance ministry said on Saturday that the two nations’ Economic Working Group met in Washington and that China was concerned about U.S. tariffs and restrictions relating to Russia.
During Friday’s meeting, the sixth of its kind, China’s Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min also gave an overview of the stimulus package that the second-largest economy in the world just implemented. The ministry released a statement referring to Treasury Undersecretary Jay Shambaugh.
US tariffs and restrictions
Following the Economic Working Group meeting, Liao, who was in the U.S. capital for the World Bank and International Monetary Fund annual meetings, also had a courtesy conversation with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
Speaking at a press conference about the status of trade talks with the United States is Liao Min, the Chinese deputy director of the Central Commission’s Office for Financial and Economic Affairs.Â
