NYT Connections #392: hints and answers for Sunday, July 7

The newest puzzle game from the New York Times is called NYT Connections. The objective of the game is to sort a pool of sixteen words into four (for now) secret groups by determining the relationships between the words.

Every night at midnight the problem resets and the difficulty of each new challenge varies. You can compare your results with pals and keep track of your winning streak, just as in Wordle.

There are days that are easier than others. Here are some suggestions and hints to help you solve today’s Connections puzzle if you’re having trouble. Finally, we will provide you with today’s answers in case you are still unable to understand.

How Does it Work? NYT Connections

The goal of the links exercise is to arrange a grid of sixteen words into four groups of four by finding the links between the words. These sets may contain ideas such as video game franchise names, book series continuations, shades of red chain restaurant names, etc.

Generally, there is only one 100% right response for words that seem to fit numerous subjects. To make it easier to see the possible connections you can rearrange and mix the word grid.

Each group has a unique hue. The groupings that are the easiest to understand are the yellow, green, blue, and purple groups.

Select four terms, then click Submit. If your guess is accurate, the four words will be eliminated from the grid and their common theme will become visible. If you guess wrong, it will be considered a mistake. Until the game is over, you can only make four errors.
