Wall Street Newspaper – Deputy Secretary Landau and Senior Bureau Official Olowski to Address Critical Issues at Foreign Affairs Day Celebration

Lew Olowski, a senior bureau official in the Bureau of Global Talent Management, will host and speak at the 60th annual Foreign Affairs Day event hosted by the Department of State.

This event will take place in the Department of State’s Loy Henderson Auditorium on Friday, May 2, at 9:30 a.m. ET, and is intended for current and former workers of the Department of State and other Foreign Affairs agencies.

Memorial Plaque Ceremony

At 10:15 a.m. ET, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will speak at the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) Memorial Plaque Ceremony in the C Street Lobby and provide the keynote presentation at the Foreign Affairs Day opening plenary session in the Loy Henderson Auditorium.

The AFSA Memorial Plaque Ceremony pays tribute to those who died while working abroad under conditions unique to the Foreign Service, such as acts of terrorism or violence.

The ceremony will be presided over by AFSA President Tom Yazgerdi who will also make opening remarks.

Deputy Secretary Landau will honor those who served our nation abroad and gave their lives in the process.
